Betsy Ambrogio

Guitar, Bass, & Ukulele

Betsy Ambrogio grew up surrounded by family members who sang and played music at every family gathering. Surrounded by that environment, it was in her blood to carry on that tradition by learning how to play music herself.

She got her first instrument, a ukulele, at 5 and learned songs from a songbook of classic songs from the 60's. She started taking piano lessons in first grade and continued for 5 years until guitar became her main focus. Betsy began teaching herself how to play guitar from tutorial videos of pop songs that she enjoyed listening to. The following years she expanded her knowledge by learning more about theory and songwriting, and picking up the bass and drums along the way.

While attending UC San Diego she met fellow musicians and formed several bands: Hfemh, Soft Serve, and 7 Car Pile Up. In these bands Betsy learned how to collaborate with other musicians, songwriting, and stage performance experience.

Betsy taught at Rock n' Roll Camp for Girls San Diego in the summer of 2024 and has taught numerous private lessons to friends and family. She loves playing a wide range of genres and her passion for everything related to music shines through when teaching others.
